Emerging Artists: Aesthetic Interiors Focus

Hello Next Up Collector Community!

I am beyond excited to introduce these emerging artists whose work is highlighted in interior settings. These works are perfect to add in business or lifestyle settings, enhancing the space with something special, while also allowing the collector to support an emerging artist.

Kooij Studio

Kooij

Social Media & Website

“In 2009, Dirk van der Kooij founded this studio in the basement of the Design Academy, Eindhoven. His guiding question was seemingly simple: could plastic be an honest, durable material? Six pizza ovens welded together proved that yes, it could. The resulting Elephant Skin series saw recycled plastic wrinkle and contract as it cooled outside of a mould, conjuring a rich, living tactility. The ultimate imitator had finally found an identity of its own.” -Studio Website

Kooij is perfect for lighting, tables, seating, and decorative objects that enhance any space in which they are located. What began as an Amsterdam-based factory making exquisite objects became pieces exhibited in the Stedelijk museum, MoMA New York, MoMA San Francisco, Vitra Design Museum, Design Museum London, and the National Museum in Oslo.

“Marit Harte is a 27 year old, full time abstract artist from the Netherlands, specialized in monochrome 3D sculpted paintings with a unique and self-thought technique that visualizes the 5 elements of nature; earth, water, fire, air, and space. Since the launch of Studio hARTe in Spring 2021 she has hung her art with clients across the globe from Dubai to Sydney, Stockholm and Los Angeles. By meticulously crafting truly one-of-a-kind artworks in the near Amsterdam based studio, she aims to celebrate individuality and raise environmental awareness.” -Artist Website

Harte’s works bring light and dimensionality into every space, adding texture and vibrance to their settings.

Fulya Celik

Fulya Celik

Social Media and Website

Celik is an incredible and emerging artist from Hamburg, but also works out of Paris.

Her artist statement reads: ‘"I am here to inspire. My art is mainly inspired by my feelings and the nature, a lot of earth tones combined with color accents and textures that reminiscent of natural organic shapes. We humans have partially forgotten that we are a part of nature, we feel somehow not connected with nature and with ourselves.”

Her works speak to the organic nature of canvas, paint, and neutral color palettes.

Gallery Fumi

Social Media & Website

“Sam Pratt and Valerio Capo opened Gallery FUMI in 2008. Both came from non-design backgrounds (banking and marketing respectively) and the only driving factor in their inception of this project was pure and unadulterated passion, not to serve the market, such as it was, but to invest in the people making the work.”

The gallery is located in Mayfair, London, England.
